The Hamburg Blues Band is a German blues-rock group and was one of the singer and rhythm guitarist Gert Lange founded in 1982.

The HBB is a hard blues, particularly through the voice of Gert Lange and the guitar riffs of Alex Conti lives and mostly hard rock elements into the music miteinbezieht and thus not as a classic Bluesband can be described.The HBB lives particularly in their live performances straight from the two protagonists Lange and Conti, the balls are always zuwerfen, but also often leads to escalating solos of lead guitarist Conti. The current cast consists of the HBB Clem Clempson at lead guitar (along with the Colosseum and former Humble Pie), it was Alex Conti Gert Lange on vocals and rhythm guitar, Hans Wallbaum on drums (formerly Chuck Berry and Marius Müller-Westernhagen ), Michael "beXI" Becker on bass (as brine), and Adrian Askew on keyboards (as brine). The renowned British saxophonist Dick stern stall-Smith (formerly Blue Breakers and Colosseum) was since the beginning part of the HBB and died on 17 Dezember 2004 an Krebs, kurz vor der Veröffentlichung des letzten Albums „Live – On The Edge of A Knife“. A very special experience, there was in summer 2006 at the Burg Herzberg Festival "to be admired (and especially to hear).This was a special tape, called "Herzberg Blues Allstars" zusammengestellt. The HBB formed the baseband, opened the concert and was in the course of the evening with lots of stars of the European blue scene reinforced. These were notably: Chris Farlowe, Clem Clempson, Mike Harrison and Pete Brown. Were held on an on WDR Rockpalast produced double-DVD.

After the exit of the lead Alex Conti in the spring of 2008, the former Humble Pie - and (yet) Colosseum guitarist Clem Clempson as a permanent member of the band. On the keyboard is now the Lake-keyboardist Adrian Askew to find. Both play at the 2008 produced new studio album, "Mad Dog Blues", which is, however, until mid-January 2009 has been extradited.
