John Campbelljohn Band - Live At Blues Garage,Isernhagen 24-3-2006
Official Bootleg

Blues

John Campbell John comes from Halifax, Nova Scotia, on the east coast of Canada located.  He plays guitar sheet wood, sheet metal guitar and pedal steel guitar, all with slide and picks, and the sonic differences between the three instruments are clearly heard.  He will be accompanied by Grant Leslie (bg, background vocals) and Neil Robertson (d, background vocals).

After a few introductory words, it goes straight to the point, "Pretty Paula" is a rock'n'roll Hadern, which is washed, sadly dispensed with bass and drum breaks, his companions bravely singing with the instruments are better.  "Heart" is a blues, the solo would probably sound fine (can ask off of the drummer?)
and ended with a brief excursion into pop music.  In "Cherokee," the old Moon Mullican number, you can hear the pedal steel very closely with all its possibilities, and just a "normal" guitar does not have.  "Slow Down" is a slow reggae with excessive Slide and Hall (Hendrix, schau oba!), Which has the Zeugler rehearsed and well-behaved as he is really needed.  The number goes on smoothly in Sydney Steel "and" Ready ", both contain hard blues-rock.  The situation calmed down with "Got To Move," a gospel song, which, among many others, including Fred McDowell (one of his idols) and Erik Trauner with Sister Shirley recorded.
The following "Drinking Song" is reminiscent of "Later Alligator" and the Zeugler seems to be another piece to the guitar solo is extremely lengthy and heard loud gaaaanz played the "You Are My Sunshine" Interjection is perhaps quite funny, but unnecessary .  "Phone Booth" (from Robert Cray) is typical Chicago Blues of the Eighties, the drummer seems to lie more, but he may at Kathaline "simultaneously with a solo run, one has the theme of this number is not already heard elsewhere?  "Johnny" is astrein rock 'n'roll, it's back to the John Campbell his cause, as one hears the bissl by Chuck Berry, the fetzt correct.
"Want To Get Up" has a "Celtic" at the beginning (why "Dance of the dormouse?") And then recalled some Chorusse long status quo, then the accompanying musicians, each with a short solo presented before the leader with a few gimmicks to the deep strings of brilliant, apparently the final point of the concert.  "World" and "Good Night" are the encores, the first a blues with a nice call / response between guitar and vocals, the brav Zeugler plays with, the latter a nice finale, the four words (longer text is not available) sings John Campbell even German .
Who unconditionally leaves on slide guitar, Hound Dog Taylor (without corners) and Jimi Hendrix (no edges) already behind him, and ever funky blues, blues rock, rock 'n'roll, and the like is, this album is the very heart to lay.  WERS liked more "sophisticated", it is necessary to wait for a solo CD (if one comes) or come to the next concert (at the earliest next year).  Please make sure to play LOUD, but not wg in the car, could be the driving influence!

Combing his exciting guitar work & powerful songwriting, Atlantic Canadian singer/slide/pedal steel guitarist & songwriter John Campbelljohn is a multiple award winner. Growing up with plenty of music in his Cape Breton/Nova Scotia home, Campbelljohn was enamored with the guitar from an early age.

By-passing Celtic music that his community enjoyed, he took up the guitar and studied blues roots artists like Son House, Fred McDowell & Robert Johnson. Eventually he put together a combo that combined his influences while returning to his Cape Breton roots.
How Does It Feel? was released in 1993 and critics in Canada and the U.S. alike caught onto his sound. His next record, Hook Slide & Sinker saw Campbelljohn get his first European release followed by Nerves Of Steel, The World Is Crazy/Live In Germany, Under The Blue Covers, Weight Of The World & Official Bootleg, even getting notice from Rolling Stone Magazine.
