She began singing in Chicago clubs such as the The Club DeLisa, also written Delisa or De Lisa, at State Street and Garfield Avenue, on the South Side, was an important nightclub and music venue in Chicago.
Around 1946, often billed as Little Miss Sharecropper, and first recorded under that name in 1949.
